Haneda Girl Touches Down on Consoles May 7 — Neon ’80s Chaos for PS5, Xbox Series & Switch

Console launch and where to play

Haneda Girl, the punchy 2D action-platformer from Barcelona’s Studio Koba (the folks behind Narita Boy) and publisher Aeternum Game Studios, finally lands on consoles on May 7. It’ll be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch after debuting on PC roughly a year ago.

On Steam the game sits at €14.99 and there’s a demo you can try right now on PC if you want to test the waters before the console release. Console prices haven’t been shared yet.

Why this matters to players

If you live for tight controls, speedruns and addictive short runs, Haneda Girl was practically built for you. The gameplay is fast, precise and packed with little systems that let skilled players shave seconds off their best times while still being approachable for casual runs.

The aesthetic is a cheeky mix of neon ’80s vibes and kawaii charm, and early coverage and player comparisons have put it in the same neighborhood as Hotline Miami, Katana Zero, Celeste and Broforce — a loose shorthand for high-speed, stylish 2D action. Critics gave it a strong score on PC, praising the mechanics even as the story recedes into the background.

Short rounds, satisfying controls, and a low price point make this a low-risk buy for fans of twitchy platformers. If you want to see whether its rhythm clicks with you, hit the demo on PC now and get ready for the console drop on May 7.
