Launch details: when, where, and how to try it
Farlands is leaving Early Access and hitting full release on July 16. Barcelona studio JanduSoft, working with Eric Rodríguez (of Leyendas y Videojuegos fame), will roll version 1.0 out on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam). If you want to poke around before the big day, a free demo is already available across all platforms — yes, even on Steam and handhelds like the Steam Deck.
The team spent almost three years polishing this space-farm mashup, and the 1.0 launch also brings much better controller support and console-ready tweaks so the Switch/PlayStation/Xbox experience isn’t a clumsy port.
What’s new in 1.0 and why players should care
The headline addition is Darmstad, a new planet in the SR755 system. It’s gated content — you’ll need a beefed-up ship to reach it — and it’s both precious and perilous. Darmstad has no breathable air, so you’ll be hopping between mushroom-lit safe zones to avoid passing out while scavenging some of the game’s best rewards.
Completing Darmstad helps you finally top off The Ark to 100% capacity, unlocking the endgame push. Along with that, 1.0 brings expanded post-story missions that send you roaming the whole system, introduce fresh characters, and dig deeper into the game’s lore — including the pyramid mystery that acts as one of the late-game goals.
For completionists: the update adds 19 achievements, taking the total to 50. Unlocking them involves a grab bag of tasks like finishing The Ark, hunting down all the Robeets, tying the knot in-game, upgrading your crib, and clearing the new post-story content.
Expect extra polish too: new furniture and items, quality-of-life tweaks to the game’s feel, system improvements, and a bunch of bug fixes the devs have been squashing during Early Access. In short — it’s the kind of update that makes this cozy-yet-weird space farm feel complete.
Bottom line: if you’ve been curious about Farlands, now’s the time to test the demo and mark July 16 on the calendar. Whether you’re after chill planet life or risky treasure runs under glowing mushrooms, version 1.0 looks built to satisfy both explorers and completionists.
