Disney Lorcana’s Winterspell expansion launched on February 20, but there’s more on the way: a Collection Starter Set and a Scrooge McDuck Gift Box are scheduled to arrive March 13, 2026. Both are already up for preorder at major retailers and are listed at $29.99 each.
The Collection Starter Set kicks off with a Stitch theme and bundles a few nice collector-friendly bits: four Winterspell booster packs, a Stitch Rock Star card portfolio, and a Glimmer Foil promo collector’s guide. The portfolio can stash roughly 80 cards, which is great for new collectors or anyone who likes an extra fancy way to protect their pulls. Those four boosters alone add up to about 48 cards for your deck-building nonsense.
The Scrooge McDuck Gift Box leans into presentation and storage: a Scrooge McDuck — S.H.U.S.H. glimmer promo card, five assorted booster packs, and a storage box with dividers that can hold around 250 sleeved cards. Important caveat — the five boosters may not all be from Winterspell. They can be a mix that includes earlier sets, so there’s a randomness factor to the pack contents.
Why this matters and which to snag
From a gameplay angle, more boosters means more cards to tinker with your decks, test new combos, or chase that one shiny that completes your strategy. For collectors, the portfolio and the roomy storage box are real wins — they make organizing and protecting cards way easier, especially if you play tournaments or trade often.
If you’re purely chasing Winterspell cards, the Collection Starter Set is the safer bet because of the guaranteed Winterspell boosters. If the goal is a gift-ready package with a neat promo and serious storage space, the Scrooge box is perfect — just know the boosters could be a grab-bag. For maximum Winterspell value, a display box (lots of packs) is still your best bet.
Bottom line: preorders are live and cheap enough to impulse-buy if you enjoy collecting or want a quick present for a Disney-fueled TCG fan. If you care about specific set pulls, pick the Collection Set or bulk packs; if you want a flashy gift and storage, go Scrooge and embrace the surprise.
