What is Shady Job?
Indie studio Gaze in Games is cooking up Shady Job, a darkly funny co-op puzzler where your mission is… to help a crime syndicate get rid of a very stubborn package. It’s currently PC-only and has no release date yet, so if the premise makes you grin (or grimace), toss it onto your wishlist and keep an eye out.
The tone is very much on the absurd side of criminal activity—not gory, just delightfully awkward and a little gross in a slapstick way. Think chaotic teamwork, not realistic violence.
How it plays and why you’ll want to try it
Matches support up to four players as construction workers on a site where the job goes sideways fast. Your objective: bag the struggling “package,” haul it up to the roof, and dump it into a concrete mixer. Simple on paper, chaotic in execution.
There’s no neat staircase to the roof, so you and your pals must improvise scaffolding and platforms as you go. The semi-alive package fights back—kicking, flinging junk, and generally making your life harder—so coordination, timing, and a willingness to panic together are key.
Gameplay-wise this leans into emergent comedy and physics-driven mayhem. Expect hilarious failures, last-second saves, and plenty of blame when someone misplaces a plank. The tools on site (shovels, throwable items, etc.) add spicy options for dealing with the mess, but nothing here is described in graphic detail.
Why this matters: it’s the kind of social experience that plays great on streams, parties, and short co-op sessions. Developers of smaller projects often nail quirky, replayable systems, and Shady Job looks aimed at that sweet spot where teamwork and chaos collide.
No release date yet, and the details so far are limited—treat any extra info you see online as provisional until Gaze in Games confirms it. For now, if you enjoy goofy co-op challenges and playing the idiot with friends, this one should be on your radar.
