Reload hits a huge milestone
Atlus just announced that Persona 3 Reload has sold over 3 million copies since its relaunch — not bad for a polished remake that first arrived in February 2024 (and later appeared on Switch 2 last October). The updated edition dresses the classic in sleeker visuals and tweaks a bunch of systems so the game feels fresher and more approachable for today’s players.
For veterans, the core hooks are still there: the spooky hidden hour at midnight, dungeon crawling, and the social life mechanics that make Persona… well, Persona. Atlus also brought back additional story content that originally released after the first game (think of it as the modern equivalent of the old FES extras), so fans got more than just prettier graphics.
Why this matters — the sale, the players, and what’s next
To celebrate, Atlus has included Persona 3 Reload in the Steam Summer Sale with a steep discount — roughly 65% off, dropping the PC price to about €20.99 through July 9. Console versions are still at their normal €59.99 price for now, so the bargain is currently PC-only.
That kind of price cut lowers the barrier for newcomers and gives longtime fans an easy excuse to jump back in. It’s also part of a broader push to keep Atlus’ JRPGs in the spotlight: several other titles from the studio are on sale too, and the company has another remake on the horizon.
Speaking of which, Persona 4 Revival is lined up for a February 18 release with refreshed visuals and modern touches. Between Reload’s strong sales and P4’s relaunch, Atlus looks to be steering the series into a second wind — which is great news if you love dungeon delving, awkward social interactions, and stylish anime energy.
