Barn-finding basics: what changed in FH6 (and why you should care)
Forza Horizon 6 brings back the joy of poking into dusty barns and stumbling on forgotten metal treasures — but it’s not just meandering around farms anymore. These 15 barn finds are gated by your progress in the game’s collector system, so you’ll need to unlock the right stamps in the “Discover Japan” section of the collector’s journal before the cars are actually redeemable.
Leveling that Discover Japan rank is straightforward: play story stuff, jump into races, smash collectible targets and generally do Horizon things to earn progress. As you climb, you’ll collect colored badges (yellow, green, blue, pink, orange, purple and gold). Once you have the matching badge, the barn’s area will light up on your map with a big search radius and a “Gift Delivery” icon — that’s when the car becomes yours to claim.
Important gameplay bits: if you visit a barn early (without the right badge) the vehicle won’t be available. And after you recover a barn car, it goes into a restoration queue — you can’t drive it immediately. Restoration can take a few hours or even weeks depending on the car, though you can pay credits to speed the process up.
