Release details and where to get it
Hitcents and Throughline Games just confirmed that Forgotlings will hit PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on June 18. The little 2D adventure first showed up on Steam back on February 17, and on the same June date it’ll also pop onto the Epic Games Store and GOG.
The price at launch is €19.50 and, if you want to snoop around before committing, there’s a Steam demo available right now.
Why this matters (short, nerdy version)
Forgotlings acts as a prequel to Forgotton Anne, and it’s the kind of game that wins hearts with its storytelling and quirky world-building. Our review liked the narrative vibes more than the combat and platforming — it’s charming and original, but some gameplay bits could use extra polish.
The game had some rough mornings at release thanks to bugs and performance hiccups. The team hasn’t been idle: they’ve pushed fixes and the recent 1.3.0 update addressed a number of the bigger issues.
For players, the console arrival is the big win here — couch-friendly consoles + more PC stores means easier access for everyone. If you care about story-driven indies and don’t mind a few rough edges, the demo is a good way to test-drive it before June 18.
